Multi-Skilled Drillers (multiple tasks, surface and underground)

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Superintendent, the candidate will (while an Assistant Driller):

- Support the Driller in the performance of his/her duties;
- Place and classify drill core in drill core boxes in an orderly manner;
- Cooperate in achieving Avataa Rouillier Drilling's drilling production objectives;
- Clean rigs at the drill rig;
- Assist in the maintenance of drilling equipment during the shift by following prescribed methods;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental procedures and policies;
- Cement drill holes;
- All other related duties as required by the job.

AND

Under the supervision of the Project Superintendent, the candidate will (when a Driller) :

- Operate the diamond drill rig to extract drill core (samples) from the ground;
- Supervise, train and mentor the Driller's helper in the performance of his/her duties;
- Participate in the movement of the drill rig and transfer the rig from one drilling site to another;
- Clean and maintain drilling equipment and rigs;
- Cooperate in achieving Avataa Rouillier Drilling's drilling production objectives;
- Cement the drill holes;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental procedures and policies;
- All other related tasks related to the job.

Required skills

- Desires to work surface and underground;
- Desire to work as a helper as well as a driller;
- Be autonomous and resourceful;

Required training

- Have received the modular training of the mining worker (FMTM)

- Have a DEP in diamond drilling (an asset).
- Mechanical and welding skills (an asset);
- Knowledge of diamond drilling in a northern environment (an asset);

Required experiences

- Have a minimum of three (3) years experience as a diamond driller or equivalent experience;

Specific requirements

- Hold a valid explosives license;
- Hold a valid driver's license;

- Bilingualism (an asset);

- 14/14 rotation schedule;
